PoiCon 2019 - How it was?
The start of the new year was marked by an annual big event in the world of flow art held in Moscow – POICON-2019. With each year this flow art festival gains its power, becomes more popular, with more and more enthusiasts willing to get there. No surprising, that they have to sign up for the event long before it starts. This time was record-breaking by foreign guests, who came here from different countries such as France, Israel, Belgium, Norway, the USA, Slovakia and others. Of course, many participants came from former Soviet republics and different regions of our vast country.

What was there?
First part of the days were about master-classes and poi practice led by best poi experts. In the evening time guests watched real performances. Friday night was marked by a poi battle winned by Drimtry Holmsly. Along with him, Artem Plotnikov and Alice Safina, taking the second and the third places correspondingly, shared the podium. Saturday night performers made freestyle poi shows on the scene.

LED poi shops
On Sunday night all leading Russian producers of digital pixel LED poi told audience about their led equipment. CEO of the Ignis Pixel Company, Grigory Zhuravlev, told about key achievements and technical novelties in pixel programmable poi, nunchaku, levitsticks, staffs etc achieved by the company for the past year. Among them Grigory pointed out the following: 4th record by resolution – Ignis Pixel 256HD model, five new products, two lines (Lite and PRO), MacOS compatible Ignis Software, poi knobs handles, a threaded PRO staff connector, capable to be transformed from poi into a staff or doublestaff and vice versa in 30 seconds, a poi stabilization option by phase and stretching. He also mentioned social activity, particularly regular poi challenges from the best spinners, as well as mentioned a special offer for POICON participants (ask Ignis representatives for details).

Also that night prepared for guests an amazing scene show by most skilled performers and flow-art groups. We were pleased to see a crowd of people who wanted to take a photo with Ignis LED poi in hands. Those photos are already available for downloading. We would like to say our biggest thanks to organizers for giving this festival, for that friendly and kind atmosphere reigned there for all three days. And don’t forget the hosts who added their charm and more fun into the event. Well, we will warmly remember the past event and prepare to the next. See you all again!
